    Default aftermarket cam belt kits and water pumps

    does anybody use aftermarket on either as a mate recommended using gates belt kits and i have found water pumps are a lot cheaper as well.since oe is made by someone else does anyone know the brand?

    Gates are good.. Dayco are worth a look too for timing belts

    As far as water pump.. Firstline or FAI

    gates, FAI or conti belts are all reliable and OE quality, with water pumps i tend so steer clear of after market stuff unless its an OE manufacturer, last thing you want is the seals in a cheap pump leaking through the impeller shaft, or the bearings seizing and throwing the timing belt off screwing the engine

    I'd just get yourself a tradeclub card (if you haven't already) and get a genuine one. they come in at around £75 for the full kit with the trade club discount. The gates kit's aren't that much cheaper than the genuine ones at RRP from what i can see, so i'm assuming your asking for quality purposes rather than saving a few quid.
