Changing car advice

Sold my Vectra today, it's being replaced with an A3. Originally the idea was to go out and find a new car straightaway, however I've now decided against that, I'm going to wait until May instead - be able to spend more on the new car and hopefully it'll be cheaper to insure as I'll have turned 25.

Now's the question, do I cancel my insurance? I was going to just leave it running and transfer the policy to a new car in the next few days. I'm a named driver on another car and its going to be 2 months before I get a new car so it seems daft to leave it and I don't know if its legit as my old Vec will be dual insured. I paid my insurance premium upfront, I appreciate I won't get it all back pro-rata but am I likely to get anything back? Also what will happen with regards to my NCB if I don't have an active policy? Can I ask Endsleigh for proof of NCB, discounting this part year?

firstly you won't get back much from your insurers, but it depends how much time is left before your policy ends, you have to weigh up the money you get back against what you'll pay for a new policy, you can always give them a ring and ask them, plus if you stop your policy before it ends you lose the no claim bonus for the year but yes you can still ask them for a proof of no claim within 2 years of cancelling or end of your policy.

I was going to say ask them to suspend the policy until you get your new car, but sounds like you have sorted it.
