could be wrong but think the squib is part of the CIM , if this is the case then you should be able to get a CIM from the scrappers , then put the innards in it from your CIM so that it doesn't need to be programmed in.

as above, could be a cheap fix, easy enough if you know your way around spanners/screwdrivers

The airbag squib is the pyrotechnic charge that is detonated causing near instantaneous inflation of the airbag under certain conditions.

Typically, high resistance would mean it is connected but the connection is bad, loose or in some way damaged.

It may well be a simple case of the plug having come loose from the back of the airbag unit - an old known fault as the plug was an utter pig to seat fully. It may also be some other damage.

If you're going to deal with it yourself, follow the system discharge procedure... ignition off, keys out..... wait 5 minutes.... disconnect battery negative and secure it well clar of possible reconnection.... wait five minutes... now the system should be discharged and safe to disconnect/reconnect components.

Being a safety system, you will need to have the fault light extinguished by a Computer Based Application - it does NOT reset on it's own once any fault is cleared.
