Smoke and lumpy idle at startup

Hi - wondering if anyone can offer some advice on the above problem. Got a 2008 Vectra CDTi 150 that over the last month or so has started to produce a little puff of white / blue smoke at startup in the morning and idle roughly for a few minutes. It's got 31k on the clock and only does short journeys to and from work - about 8 miles each way, but this does include a run down the motorway.

It's not done this before and always been fine, serviced regularly and doesn't use a drop of oil ever. Any advice would be appreciated.

when the smoke has cleared does the car run ok?

check for over pressureisation of the coolant, those symptoms can be a ruptured egr cooler.

Yeh, I'd say by the time I've got a mile down the road the tickover is fine and no more smoke.
