    Default Cd70 Navi

I've bought the cd70 navi for my vectra i have installed it but found the fm reception is appaling. I did notice the wire for the aerial had a 2 wire plug that goes near the interior light. Im unsure od the colour of the wires could these be live and earth for the aerial base?. I dont know what else the problem could be.

    Thanks

Mines factory fit (as far as I'm aware) and my fm reception is terrible sometimes! Constant hissing.... Bit disappointing they didn't put dab in the cd70 IMO

Electonic interference always used to be most commonly down to a bad earth somewhere... bit more complex now with so much electronic equipment.

If you have the OE GPS antenna base fitted then you should find a home for the dangling wires, although I'm not sure if the base also contains a signal amplifier.

You could also check the aerial wire for shorting - being 'nipped/pinched' at some point maybe have damaged the insulation.

In general though, bad earthing of the radio chassis was always high on the list when nearby electrical devices seemed to cause signal interference.
