    Default Brake Upgrading?

Is it hard to change front brakes from 302's to 314's? What i mean is it a straight swap around or do i need to change hubs etc!

What are the benefits of upgradign brakes? The limiting factor on my car is normally the friction between the tyres and the road, not the grip of the caliper on the disc.

But ABS kicks in when you you lose traction on the road and kick in, going on that you only ever need brakes powerful enough to lock the wheel up and the ABS will do the rest. Therefore there is no benefit to bigger brakes beyond that?

bigger brakes shorten braking distances fella and the oe stuff like on the vectra cdti's are pretty poor tbh and can be improved upon

Thanks guys, been offered a set and as previous members have said basically bigger breaks = better controlled breaking = shorter stopping distance.

Less brake fade, Better brake pedal, sharper response from brakes.

You must have terrible tyres or a fault with the abs system to lock your wheels in the dry at speeds.

As for the 314's go for it, you won't regret it. Are you considering the 292mm rear upgrade too?

You never heard people say with bigger brakes you can brake later and harder.
