I went with VX metallic smoke grey as it blends in nicely with the silver lightening car. They look fantastic in the flesh, If I may say so myself...lol

How easy is it to do this? Got quoted £55 a wheel for refrub and spray which is mad to me.

Theres a company near me that will strip, primer, paint then laquer a set of 4 alloys for £180. Not a bad deal really.

Well its all down to the prep work really depending on how bad your wheels are. I put a key in the original paint work with some 1000+1200 grit wet n dry. Its time consuming but worth it once this was done I mixed some aluminum filler and filled the curb marks. After more rubbing down once it was set, I was ready to apply the paint. 2-3 coats of paint with 2-3 coats of clear lacquer. then hey presto. As the original paint was in good nick except for the curbing I decided to rub this down and use it as the primer.Which worked a treat. If you go deeper to the metal then I would use a good primer first.

paint = 3.50 per wheel half a rattle can.

lacquer = 3.50 per wheel = half a can per wheel.

    wet n dry = 2.99.

    2" Masking tape 1.99

Filler ? as I already had some..... 5.00 at a guess.

The rest is time, effort and patients.

Rubbed down and ready for masking.
