    confused Compatible Oils

OK - My 2.0Dti is on longer life oil - Castrol SLX ?

What other (cheaper) oil can I use ? at £13.99/litre from Halfords makes it not cheap.

Let's not talk "cheap" Led lets talk quality at cheap prices something like total Quartz at £2.50 or so per litre the only catch is that the minimum order is between 18 & 24litres.

If you're interested then call 01977 603363, you MUST ask for Debra they are a bulk supplier (like 45 gallon drums) and Debra is the only one there who is prepared to do the smaller quantaties for us, remember a dealer will charge somewhere around the £40 mark to supply 5 litres or so

They also have a technical department to ensure you get the best and correct oil for the car, then all you do is take it along when you're getting it serviced and tell them to put it in i.e. you're supplying your own oil, so in the end the oil costs you £11 or so so you're up on the deal by £30 at least every time you have the car serviced

Use Vx 10/40, buy 3 get 4 deal, on the trade card it costs £20 for 20 litres, full retail maybe about £27, but it's still a lot of black gold for a wee bit o' silver.

If you like i'll get some Trade club discount for you which then makes VX's longlife fully synthetic £16.55+V a can or £49.65 + V for 4 cans...or £2.48+V a litre

    or the 10W40 Semi is now £8.69+v and £26.07+v for 4 cans..or £1.30+v a litre

remember , as you're local i'm more than happy to use my discount for you....

This is available in a 4 Litre bottle, at about £43.99

Since you have a diesel, you might want to look at :
    Castrol Edge TD 4 Litre 5w40 £36.99

As a Shell retailer I used to supply my own for servicing, but their range for (modern) diesel engines is very poor
However, I have two BP stores, so will be using the Castrol Edge TD

I think you will find the service interval for this engine is 20K miles
In the latest (diesel) engines it is up to 30K miles!

    It's 5/30 fully synth for 20-30k intervals

10/40 is just as good, just don't run it for more than 10k, it'll probably do more, but just to be safe. hth.
