Rear heated windsceen

Hi everyone
I hope someone can help, I have just bought a 52 plate, 1.8 petrol vectra, and I have found a problem in that the rear heated screen does not work. I have checked fuses etc and when I put a meter on the element of the screen I get a negative reading of 13.2 volts, any suggestions would be gratefully appreciated.

Negative reading is because got wires wrong way.

have you got continuity across it?
