    Default Rough idling...and ideas please? : (

    Evening all
Got myself a Vectra Elite 3.2 (petrol) 2003, had a old 3 series that I swopped it for...took it on board knowing it had a few issues some of which I've sorted.
Oil leak from rocker cover gasket at the rear, slight mis fire...changed the coil packs, the only issue I can't sort out, cause I'm no mechanic, is the idling one...from start in the morning it seems fine but when you set off for a journey and finally come to a stand still at a junction or roundabout the revs go up to about 2k and then slowly drop but never to a sensible level...if it does drop it drops to just above 1k and sometimes can go back up again.

Also is there any way of getting an airbag light off or is it a case of auto electrician to read it?

    Any help would be greatful

    Cheers people

Sounds like a gunked up throttle body to me. Plenty of info on here about how to clean it up (well, there is on the 1.8 and 2.2 litre engines, assume it's pretty similar to yours!)

Assuming there isn't actually a fault with the airbag system (ie: light just on from car being started with an airbag unplugged) then it's a 2 minute job for anyone with Tech2 or the unmentionable PC based interface
