Default Rear Brake Discs & Pads

    Hi all,

as mentioned before, my car passed it's MOT with an advisory of N/S/R brake pad wearing thin.

I know to replace both the N/S and the O/S pads at the same time, but should I also replace the discs as well while I'm at it????

Nothing was mentioned about replacing the discs when I collected the car from the MOT.

If you've got the coin to change them. I'd do it at the same time. Considering you're pulling the whole brake assembly off, it makes sense. If not, really doesn't matter. You'll just have to do it all further down the line.

Buying a brake kit (comprising discs and pads) is cheaper than buying the discs and pads separately.

As the pads are almost as hard as the discs these days, chances are the discs are worn and need changing.

Nope, there were only ever two sizes of rear brakes fitted to the Vec-C/Signum. 278 fitted to everything bar the 2.0t and v6s which had 292 rear discs
