confused CD70 navi with bluetooth and cradle - stopped working :(

Hi, I have a 2006 Vectra Elite with CD70 navi, bluetooth and cradle. Unfortunately, the bluetooth and cradle dont seem to work.

If I set the UHP to discoverable, it isnt and if I try to select 'search for phones' it literally does nothing - doesnt say anything like 'searching', just stays on the menu option.

I got hold of some old sony phone that fits the cradle, but this doesnt even charge (in the car) let alone register as connected. It all seems plugged in under the cradle.

Also the GPS signal has never worked on the car, but I don't know where to start trying to sort this out. All connections are made to the back of the head unit - also according to OPCOM the UHP4 is 'present' (anyone know where the UHP4 physically is?!)

I spoke to the dealer and they just said they're run diagnostics, then search for loose wires. Will they find any more than OPCOM (which shows no errors)??

HELP - this seems like an expensive problem

thanks for the response - does that include the loss of GPS signal? How come there's no fault codes?

Was wondering about getting an ebay uhp4, but presume that needs to be tech2'd and dunno who can do that in the South

The uhp4 on a vectra is under the central dash behind the ashtray I think. You should be able to programme it with opcom I know I could do mine (on an Astra), but you need to set the anti theft in the EHU as well and my opcom could not do that. So I bought a tech2 unit and sorted the lot. A unit from ebay worked fine for me but it does need programming as it is blank as it was new. Unfortunately up in north Oxfordshire so not that close unless you travel for work that is.

The GPS has a separate aerial so it may be that or the bit in the aerial base itself that is at fault.

thanks for the info - i know the ECU diag socket is under the ash tray, are you sure the bluetooth module (UHP4) is in there too on the Vectra?
I'm not seeing 'phone safe' etc.

Im thinking of either buying a new UHP4 module or an entire CD70 kit off ebay - but have noone that could Tech2 it round my way
I'd like to approach the problem piece by piece - should I start with UHP4 or headunit? With the tech2 each time hassles should I just do the lot??

I'd rather not pop the colour screen out and it seems lots of people break the vent clips, but again I end up in Tech2 confusion land

In my vectra, the bluetooth UHP4 was located behind the glovebox in a bracket close to the front offside wheel arch area.

Not 100% the uhp is behind the centre console at the bottom, but Aidi says it is behind the glove box. I know on my vectra it is not there as I have had the glovebox out on many an occasion. On the astra and corsa it is in the area above the throttle pedal so the Vectra's could well be there the same as Davidd88 zafira.

If you have to pay for a tech2 session then it would probably be best to have it all done at the same time. Would have thought though that there would be a member on here more local to you with a tech2.

Sebastian, do you mean behind the a/c controls? So that's 2 votes for near the ash tray! How to do I get to it?

I'm really wondering how the bluetooth module can stop the GPS signal and the phone cradle charging
