    Default sticky EGR value

Think the egr value stickin on my 1.9cdti 8v, got into the car today and put it in first and put ma foot on the gas even to the floor, nothing crawlin very slow 5mph if that then the turbo kicks in and boom head goes to the back on the seat and into 2nd the same slow and turbo boost lol. But drives like a dream in 3rd. So I wondered that ****in EGR value so I turned the car off and disconnected the EGR as a test about 2mile and car drives like New. So I plugged in back in and back to very slow take off. Then when I picked up ma boy from school started the engine and car took off with no problems. ****** strange its as if it free'd itself . Goin to strip it this week and clean anyone know what's can use to clean it used tooth brush before didn't get a good clean thinkin about drillin the value and punchin it out and greese it up so any ideas can I use a wire scourer?

Hate these valves. I had the same problem with mine about a week ago. Took my car to an old Mechanic to fix my coil spring that snapped on the front. I told him about the constant EGR valve problem that I have.

He told me to take the car to the motorway put it in 4th gear and put my foot down for about 30 miles. I was suprised to how well this sorted out the problem. I came of the motorway and my car was like new. I have all my power back in the low revs again!! For what it is worth give it a go, because I have bocome fairly fed up with the procedure of removing this thing and cleaning it.

    Hope it works for you.

Use this how2 bud... I left the silver part of mine in petrol for a few hours then used tooth brush to clean deposits off.. Then re-greased the spring with spray grease and made sure it moved freely before reassembly.. Gonna do mine every 6 months or so.. Pretty easy job to be honest just a pain in the ass lol.. Good luck..
