What do you want an estate for ? Are you a plumber ? Just get a "decent" motor, a Vectra, I heard that the Signum is only a four seater in disguise anyway fella

I like the Vectra estate, looks good but it is very big. Which is great if you need the size. if you dont need the size but want the flexibility of a big flat load space if needed then the siggie makes a lot of sense. And the rest of the time you get a car which is a little unusual.

The Signum actually has a fifth seat (with a hidden belt, etc.), but it's not really comfortable, as the two other seats have been widened as compared to the other models, to enhance two seats only comfort. Yet it's still possible to carry a fifth person, but it won't be in the be best condition for his arse or back... Of course, you may also choose to fit the Travel Assistant and completely suppress the the fifth seat.

The two other rear seat are also sliding independantly, offering either maximum comfort and room for legs, or maximum boot room, depending on your needs.

Plus the Signum has a better exterior look overall and at least standard SRi front bumpers and equipment, may more commonly have lowered sports suspension, and will probably be equipped with dual area audio.

It's also a bit shorter than the Estate on the rear part, and has a slightly smaller boot.

On the other hand, the Estate is optimized for boot space, and is the only model featuring an electric tailgate.

    Do I forget something ?

I've had both. Currently have a signum. I loved me estate but all comes down to what you need it for. The signum will have more toys unless you get an elite estate. I found the signum to be better build quality for some reason ( maybe cos it was produced in Germany). Both very good cars.

just try both, i always liked the look of the signum more than the estate. Also the toys on the design model swung it for me. Nav, half leather sports seats, sri head lights and suspension

Both the Signum and the Vectra estate have a longer wheelbase than the hatchback, and gives quite a bit more leg room for rear seat passengers which can make it a lot more comfortable for adults, especially on long journeys, if this matters too you.

Personally I like the estate. If you regularly have to carry large items (or perhaps have dogs) the estate is great with it's large flat squarish load area - no wheel arches in the way and no boot lip to have to lift stuff over.

The one thing I think could have been better on the estate is the rear lights. The design just doesn't look quite right to me!
