Default Instrument cluster electrical problem - Please help

Started my Signum this morning and all the electrices within the instruments cluster were not working, no rev counter/ speedo/ backlight/ warning lights etc

Car started, lights/ radio/ Nav etc all working but nothing within the instrment cluster.

Local Vaux dealer told AA man to disconnect battery and leave for 5 mins to re boot the computer. This seemd to have workd but worried all the same.

Anyone else had the same? Should I book this in as car under Vaux warrenty

    Thx

hate to say this, same thing happens on my mate Vx Combi, all instruments go dead and he has to whack the dash lol to get it started. Vx put it down to a bad connector for the panel.

You have plenty of time on warrenty Mark, see if it does it again, if you mtake it in right now they will say no fault found and charge you £50.

Limited number of starts remember Mark, plus it may have cleared when he took the battery lead off.

I had this on my old corsa c. Fixed 9 times then it went again and i 'got a deal' from vaux to replace the car hence i'm in my veccie On the corsa you couldntstart the car either when this happened

The Fault was put down to the cable coming loose at back of instrument panel. Pushing the instrumnets usually brings this back as a temp measure or did on corsa. Other faults could be the body control module.

Didn't some of the earlier Vecs have a problem with a loose/bad connection somewhere behind the battery, ABS connector or something ?
