Slowly giving up with this car!!

Okay, hoping no one else has had as many problems as me but hoping for some help! Got a signum 2.0 DTI 05 plate pre-facelift. It's just done 137000 miles. Had a new clutch, flywheel, had the gearbox reconditioned, new front springs, new front shocks, top strut mounts and wishbones. Not including throttle body, egr valve and master cylinder.

Gearbox has been in less than 1500 miles, it went in with first gear issue, not being able to go from second to first. Has to stop the car, put it in neutral, foot off the clutch, back on and then I could select first. After having it recond it worked lovely now having the same problem again. Gearbox centre in Cwmbran said there is nothing wrong with it. I was there when they pulled it apart and nothing is wrong with it this time.

After having all the front end almost completely rebuilt I still have a crunching noise but it sounds like its the middle of the car. Read on here that it could be the arb bushes. But there is no movement on the arb at all!

Garage are now thinking that it could be the engine mounts causing the noise and could have caused the gearbox to drop slightly causing me not to get into first gear. This makes sense, just wanted to have someone else's opinion and see if anyone else has had a similar issue. Are engine mounts a common issue on these??
