Default Vec Might Be Going Soon

I'm having negotiations for a 1.9 CDTi Elite Automatic.

What I need to know is this, what sort of MPG will this car do, Vx say 29mpg on urban, I'm working on a real time figure of about 25-26mpg, anyone here have one and use it in town the majority of the time?

VV I get about 22/23 mpg around town out of mine[ when the weather is warmer] so I would have thought you would have been near to 30mpg.

    Minimal really..

Our 150 Auto gives us a very comparable figure to manuals..( when it's running).. we had to search hard to find ours, but then it's not a common combination..

It gives around 45 MPG on A and B roads, 50+ on a long run and around 30 round town...

I have to admit, looking back, a mate of mine had a 2.0 CD Omega in a manual, that used to report 21mpg on the screen, at the time I had a 2.5 CDX Auto that would be a shade under 18 mpg, and the last one I had was a 2.2 CD Auto and that used to report 20 mpg, so given that it's 10% more cube than my mates one there wasn't really anything in it.

Does that mean that you will have to put a stealth charge on, in the form of a VV fuel tax...

Na, believe it or not, 10 yrs ago I bought the Omega V6 for £13k S/H and it did 18 mpg at best, bring it up to today and thats like buying a 20k car that does 12 mpg, so I know what to expect, I just think comfort and ease is better than a few extra bob.
