Dim Tail Lights - Vectra C

I've just noticed that the offside tail lights on my vectra c hatch are dim compared to the near side. I've removed the bulb holder and both lights are on but are barely visible and appear to be flickering. Can anyone offer any advice.

Check the earth connection's good on the light unit (brown wire).

It's just about sorted it but the black wiring connector onto the back of the bulb holder doesn't look very healthy, do you know itf it's possible to replace this easily?
