    Default HELP - Bluey/white smoke - 1.9 CDTI 150

This morning I drove the car for approx 25 miles (mainly motorway) when I was near my destination, I was in traffic for about 1 minute. I noticed bluey/white smoke coming from the engine - more when reving. When I reached my destination, I stopped and started the car... and nothing, no smoke whatsoever. Checked around the engine bay, oil levels, under the car, etc and there was nothing that I noticed..

I left the car for 5 mins and then headed out again. I drove the car another 10 miles on the motorway, slowed for some traffic and again the smoke appeared Pulled over on to the hard shoulder again, checked whatever I could, waited two minutes and started the car... all was well and I drove approx another 10 or so miles and exited the motorway - stopped at the traffic lights and guess what... it started smoking again Pulled over, left the engine running but the smoke reduced, however, there was a little smoke, but it wasn't obvious where it was coming from.

There was no sign of loss of performance, no light on the dash, car drives perfectly fine.

I've only had the signum for about 3 weeks now and only covered about 700 miles. The car was serviced before I picked it up.

Any ideas? Is the car safe to drive?

Check the fuel filter isn't leaking. It's at the back of the engine in the middle. Mine did this, smoke came from the diesel dripping onto the exhaust below.

I have just updated my post on here, I am having the same problem of smoke after running and warming up, especially when revving. Mine is out the back of the exhaust though. Have a check for your exhaust leaking. You may have a similar problem to me but your exhaust is leaking into the engine bay. Or as said above you may have a diesel leak from filter. If it has been recently serviced, the fuel filter housing needs putting back together really tight (30Nm) or it will leak.

Just checked this (black canister) and there does seem to be any fuel leaking. Infact, from what I can see, the whole engine bay is dry so kind rules out any leaks, etc

Its difficult to get to down the front of the engine. I had a leak there and it was visible in the floor in the form of a large puddle of oil.
