    confused Heater/Blower/Vents .. Misting up

    Hi Guys,
A couple of points to raise to see if anyone else suffers, and has a solution.

1st - having been spoilt by the heater/blower in my mondeo the Signum leaves a lot to shout about. it is virtually non existent on 1 or 2, and needs to be on 3 or 4 to get anything from it. That said even on 3 or 4 it dose not fire airflow out of the vents when on straight ahaed, i have to hit the boost/circulate button to give it a uuuuumph to be able to feel it. On screen it dose nothing at all - or at least i can feel it.

2nd - the damn car does nothing but steam up all the time. The minute i get a passenger in the car withn 10 mins its all steamed up and i cant see out of the side windows, i have to put the windscreen clear button on , and that dosent clear them with any speed, i have to resort to the air con at times....

any advise chaps, i just want a car i can see out of, and a vent/blower/heater system that blowers air from the direction i want enough that i can feel it..........

    cheers all

    Rick

Check the pollen filter is in good condition and not wet and that the scuttle panel drain hole is clear first off.

What Das says. I don't have a problem with misting

Exactly what Das says. I had the same problem when I first got my Vectra - never had a problem since cleaning the scuttle drain hole and replacing the Pollen filter. I'm surprised your heater/blower isn't very efficient because unless it's different to the one in the Vec, I've always thought mine is excellent. I tend to leave the fan on speed 1 the whole time and rarely need to turn it up. Perhaps your Pollen Filter is partially blocked?

My Vectra never mists up. Normally just leave the controls on setting 1 and directed towards windscreen and feet with aircon on

Also, the recirculate will mist your car up more as it just pushes unventilated air around.

Try running it for a while without the pollen filter in - can't see there is much pollen about at the moment

My CC middle vents seem to not blow any heat out while the sides do.

windscreen blower on mine is nowhere near as effective/forceful as my dad's AC sri, although i did discover over this winter that by just scraping ice off the screen meant no misting on the inside as opposed to using deicer and having the entire screen mist up and not be clear for about 5-10 mins

no real idea why this is and i dont have the space or time to take the dash apart to find out why.
