After all the problems with my rear brakes and various issues I can happily report all is well in the world

Also on my return journey from Shrewsbury after filling up the ole girl even managed to return. 45 mpg on the trip computer lol, so I'd say that's a success

My 1.9 cdti 150 averages between 35-40 mpg round town with my lead boot!

No it's a preface Sri 1.8 petrol normally getting around 35 on short runs but way more than my focus 1.6 which I was lucky if I got mid 20's or low 30's on a run
