    Question Estate Owners and GPS

    I hope someone can help.

I've decided that I heed to put an external GPS aeriel in the vec estate as whilst in built up areas (cities) I loose Sat Locks, which is a real pain.

I have the aeriel and I'm after some thoughts on where is the best place to locate the said aeriel, and how to route the cable to the GPS which is located on the dash over the left centre airvent.

I think the aeriel has about 5m of cable so location shouldn't be a problem.

Any help will be gratefully recieved and if their is any pictures all the better.
    Thanks

My estate is wired and positioned the same as my hatch was.
Routing cables through the bulkhead on the Vec C is really easy. There is a large rubber grommet in both (N/S & O/S) top corners, and you can easily put cables through here, the N/S is easier to get to as you can just pop the glove box out and it gives you loads of room. But mine actually uses the O/S as my cable was not long enough to go the other way.
The receiver itself is mounted on top on the front crumple bar thingy, so the receiver sees through the plastic bumper. It is just stuck on using very strong double sided sticky foam pad stuff.

GG: I hadn't thought of putting it their. Looks a good place to me will have to investigate that.

Next question - How do you remove the glove box?

Has anyone got any other suggestions?

    Yep, what he just said.

It's an excellent place I think, unless you crash, lol.

I've no intention of crashing and the aeriel's are only £20 so not bothered if do have a crash and it get damaged.

Now to find some free time to do this and get a Torx screwdriver

    Thanks everyone

I run mine under the ciggarette lighter in the centre console between the seats.

    Using a Holux 236 I think...works a treat.
