    Default plate between gearbox and engine

    does the tin like metal plate between the gearbox and engine
    have to be there ???? just done a dmf change but the new crank oil seal i put in has gone so it all has to come out again :-( . i followed the how to on this forum and the pics did not show that plate which was a pain the first time round

    I have never done that job, but my thoughts are that it is there for a reason, if it was not needed it would not be fitted in the first place.
