Default Brown Gunk in Oil Filler Pipe

    Hi,

I get brown gunk on the oil filler cap and in the oil filler pipe on my 2005 3.2V6 GSi. I am sure this isn't the head gasket (certainly hope not) as it has been like it for a while and drives fine. Any ideas why and how to cure it?

Its normal, I removed the plastic extension that the cap fits onto. then put the cap straight onto the engine. Problem solved

or just clean it out every now and again, the tube looks much better in place. Its due to the oil vapours holding against the cooler pipe and solidifying.

As said just clean it regularly, or remove it.
