    It's probably for some equipment that is not fitted to your car, if you looked closely enough you would probably find others around the engine bay not plugged in to anything either

    maybe yes - but to what kind of equipment is normally connected ? (if car has it)

    Given the rough location, possibly washer fluid level sensor ... front foglights... headlamp washer system ... really just guessing though

    hmmm.. but that one is not washer fluid level sensor that way ?:

    front foglights I have - so I don't think so -maybe this headlamp washer system that way ? but I see it only on one side

    my guess would be previosu owner done a direct link to the fuse box for washer level sensor

    Good ideascoming out here ... so the one down by the washer bottle is probably for the level sensor and the original one up top quite possibly for front parking sensors.

    I think, that close to the washer bottle its either level sensor or headlight washer pump.

    Looking at the bit highlighted it's the connector for the additional bonnet switch at the top of the picture ,and it's disconnected because the tag has fallen off the bottom of it !.
