James " 007 " Bond

I've just recently watched James Bond / SkyFall on Box Office .

I must say , as a Bond fan , i found it very under-whelming and a bit disapointing .

I.M.O. it was a bit dragged out at 2 hours and 15 mins , i think it lasted .

There wasn't a specific lasting Bond Girl

or a Bond car until near the end

and where in the Bond franchise series is SkyFall placed ?

If the Daniel Craig 007 is to be the re-boot / back to the beginning of James Bond , then i guess the " NEW " beginning would be Daniel Craig's Casino Royale , when he got a " License To Kill "

So when you watch SkyFall , to us he has had only 2 previous missions , since getting a killing license , but M treats him like a surrogate son ( after only 2 assignments that the viewer knows of ) .

Then when Bond enquires about gadgets to the new younger " Q " , the lad replies by saying something like , " They havn't done that for years " , maybe suggesting James has been around a while .

Another possible mistake , is using Judi Dench as " M " and killing her off , as in the mind of the viewer , she has already done about 4 missions with Pierce Brosnan , but died after Daniels 3rd outing .

The Aston Martin DB 5 , won in Casino Royale ( the newer 2006 version ) is a left hand drive , and then Bond has another one in SkyFall , ( right hand drive ) but destroyed in Daniel's 3rd Bond film , are we to forget that the DB5 was in Goldfinger ,, Thunderball ,, Goldeneye and Tomorrow Never Dies .

Did Sean Connery's Bond travel through a parralell universe and give it to Daniel Craig's Bond ?

It is never explained in the film how this incarnation of Bond could possibly have acquired the vehicle previously used by Sean Connery's 007, who, as of Casino Royale , is a totally separate character in an alternate continuity.

Maybe , Bond purchased the Aston Martin , like the novelization of Goldeneye states .

So did Bond aquire 3 separate Aston DB5's , either " Won " , " Bought " or " Time Travelled " ?

Then there is the new Money Penny / Felix , but we'll leave that for another time . == L.O.L.

So like i said at the beginning ...

Where does SkyFall , Ahem , fall in the series .

Maybe , when the film makers re-booted the whole New Bond thing from the beginning , they should have done just that and not done any cross overs from previous Bonds .

I know at the end of the day , it's just light entertainment and suspension of belief for a couple of hours . L.O.L.

I thought the British Government was hard up with having to house all the immigrants .

How can they afford Classic and modern ( Casino Royale , Die Another Day etc ) Aston Martins ?

And of all the cars for a spy to choose to , be anonymous in and not draw attention to themselves ... L.O.L.

In SkyFall , they sold off Bonds flat and parents house when they thought he was deceased .

How didn't they know where " their " near £ 250,000 classic DB 5 was ?

Maybe Ford , Nokia and the watch manufacturer are sponsoring Her Majesty's Government too .

Notwithstanding all of the details and points you make, I have to agree that I found it very disappointing. I think Daniel Craig plays a pretty good Bond, but he can only work with the mediocre storyline he's been given.

Casino Royale I thought was excellent, Quantum of Solace was ok-ish, but Skyfall was dire. I soooo wanted to like it, but I left the cinema feeling totally underwhelmed.

Bonds parents were named on the grave stones at the church as having the surname Bond .

So James Bond must be his real name .

But apart from the 007 title meaning a licence to kill ( double O ) , i don't think a Government spy would have his real name or the baddies could use his name to find his family and blackmail information from him .

An anonymous Bond couldn't say to the baddie ,,,,,,,, my name is 7 ..... Double O Seven .

Ahhhhhhh , says the baddie ........ you must be a Government spy with a licence to kill = L.O.L.

Now before some of you say ............... Yes , he has no family , apart from the distant aunt who looked after him after his parents deaths ........ is she still alive ?

But in theory or reality giving a spy his real name ain't too good an idea ..... L.O.L.

I watched it last night, with background interruptions going on, so will need to watch it again. Not really that bothered about the DB5 question, was pleased to see it again, and the quip about "eject me then, see if I care".
I suppose they could have had 2 for Q to work on, originally, and this was the prototype, bought or squirrelled away by Bond? Normal firms sell company cars to employees, and if MI6 bought job lots of black Fords like the FBI used to, they'd be easily spotted . Ever watched "Spooks" they do what they have to.
It did come up with the bad guy that spies don't keep their own names (do you even remember mine), but, as an orphan, maybe they thought it unnecessary?
I took it that (Desmond Llewelyn being dead) that the new Q was a replacement for the staff killed in the building explosion
I did think killing Judi Dench off unfair, but maybe she'd had enough, as M, she'd come under heavy critisism and near forced retirement.
I think you're overthinking this a bit, after all, at the end of the day, it's a film, not a documentary.

So you have a whinge about the length of the film and then spend how long over analysing the film? For what purpose? To try and impress people with your in depth knowledge of a fictional character. Oh my word, I bet you know all of Harry Potters spells off by heart aswell don't you! lol. And to top it off I bet you pay your £10 to go and watch the next one at the cinema too!
