    Default diesel filter change time

hi all, its 4th service time, major service. im going to do it myself. planning on oil and oil filter air filter and fuel filter cant see what else needs doing, ive done all of the above work before on this car ( vec 1,9 cdti 150) other than the fuel filter, i know i need a filter removal tool but they all seem wayyyyy to expensive from what ive seen on line so going to have a look in machine mart at the weekend, has anyome bought such tools from machine mart or give me an idea of wheres best to get them, ill be doing the servicing myself from now on so id rather have the correct tools, as i dont want to brake anything in doing the job. thanks all. rob

All you need is an oil filter spider/ strap spanner/ larger grips to undo fuel filter.

all we do in work is gently hold in a vice an use some big water pump pliers to undo then

I used a small plain screwdriver to release the clips. Be careful tho!

Also wanted to ask regarding doing the service myself. I've done regular oil and filter changes on this car many times but a mate told me he takes his to main dealer as they do updates etc on ecu ??? Is this true and am I best taking it to a dealer for the major service if that's the case ??
