Bad I'd say, I get 38 from my 3.0V6 diesel!
y would this be?
You can not compare the newer generation of CDTI's to the older school DTI's !!!
Even so 30mpg from the 2.0dti is still bad......isn't it????
The older DTi engines are not as efficient as the newer CDTi's m8.
I had an Astra 2.0DTi a few years ago and that struggled to get anything over 35 mpg. It mostly averaged around 30 so you are somewhere near there with the car being a lot heavier too.
If the 2.0 is supposed to be anything like the 2.2, which I guess it is, then it really depends what you do with it.
If you are doing really ultra urban driving then it probably is about right, if there is any sort of motorway running in there then yes, it is well low.
If I make adjustments for the auto box and 19's on mine (which cost mpg) then in reality I am probably hitting around 33-35mpg with probably 95% town driving. (plus it is a heavier estate as well)
Mines a 2004 2.2 Dti & I get about 43 mixed driving in the main traffic hours, Never had less than 38 even got 33 towing a 1350kg caravan over 240 miles, (mpg worked out by Ltrs & miles)
well what would be making my veccy dring the diesel. It there any diesel that i can get that would give me more mpg or is there something i can do
