Banana arm noise/play

If the car was on a ramp with the suspension hanging, would this remove the play in the bushes?

I think the sheer weight of the car and the impact of the bumps is what makes the bushes rattle. On mine i could not move the bolt in the knackered bush even when the car was jacked up but when i took them off it became apparent how shot they were. The new ones were more or less rigid but the old ones were like elastic bands

with the car on the floor, grab the top of the wheel and give it a good rock.

youl be able to hear/feel if its shot.
