Had it done myself at the stealers but saw the car stripped down. You need to take the plenum off to get down to it, look for the spark plug howto on here, it's not too hard, then you can see the housing at the driver's side of the engine. If you havent had your plugs changed recently it's worth doing while you have it stripped down. when down there though they found my coolant flange seal had perished so that's worth checking too.

Just a morning to do the actual work - the job itself was quick but they had to order in the flange.

This flange seal, is that for the thermostat flange? I shall check mine to see whether or not it was included and, if not, then I'll get one. Paul

Do you have to ake a lot off the engine to do spark plugs?

The top of the inlet plenum needs to come off. It's covered in the How To section, I believe. I've got plugs to do on mine too. Paul

, No mate, this wasnt the thermostat at all, it is a large thick metal plate with six holes in it for coolant to go round the 6 cylinders, and instead of a seperate gasket it has one built into it, and part of this had perished so I had to have the whole thing replaced. He showed me the part to be fair so I knew he wasnt having me on. It was weeping a very small amount of coolant and I'd have never know if I hadnt been having the thermostat changed.

Thanks, Yugguy. :-) Was this part inside the thermostat housing or nearby but elsewhere on the engine? Got any pictures? I need to know what to look for and which asket to order before I rip mine to bits because I don't have another running car at the moment. Paul
