    Default Alloy/steel Wheel bolts length....

Can anybody tell me if the size of wheel bolts are different for alloy and steel wheels or are they the same bolt..

    Cheers for any advice.

its not just the bolt length, you need to check the taper/ angle of the head, they may (?) have made it standard now but I know previously they were different for alloy and steel wheels, and if you used bolts for steel wheels it could damage alloys.

Ive got alloys at the mo but i have been offered some steel wheels with decent winter tyres on, was wondering if my current bolts would fit....guess i will just try them and see.

    Cheers..

I know it's all very subjective fella. But I've run 19" Snowflakes and 16" Steels on my 3.2 Gsi using the same bolts. Right or wrong I don't know, but they fitted perfectly each time.
