    confused Sunroof noise

The last few weeks I have noticed a noise coming from the sunroof. Yes, I have the factory fit sunroof and whenever I find a speed bump or similar I here a plastic noise from the sunroof. I checked the seal and is ok. I applied some force on the glass while closed and is not moving or causing any noise.

It has to be something in between the glass panel and the plastic surround.

Anyone with similar issue? (I know sunroofs are rare)...

The interior roof trim round mine squeaks a bit when the sun roof's open, never actually bothered to find out where though and it doesn't do it when it's closed.

I had this and fixed it only last week on my '05 Vec C.......on mine it was the wind deflector rattling against the roof surround when it's in the closed position. I sorted it by just sticking some small squares of black insulating tape (several layers thick) to act as a buffer between the roof surround and the wind deflector.

I have a rather unsightly area of deep seated rust on my wind deflector at the driver's side end - not sure what has caused it; is it a common rust trap?

Yup one end of mine is rusty too, keep meaning to rub it down and re-paint it.

Lol; me too! Thing is, you can't see it with the roof shut, or from inside the car with the roof open - and the roof's never open when I'm not in the car.......so I almost never get to see it......out of sight, out of mind!
