GSI 3.2 Oil

Hi all im about to do a service on my gsi so went to euro car parts and put in my reg and some oils came up is this the right oil

TRIPLE QX Engine Oil 5w30 Fully Synthetic (For GM applications) Engine Oil 5Ltr

I hope so cos i ordered it a couple of days ago and i have got it now just want to make sure before i put it in.

do you know what it has in now ?
i,m in a bit of a quandry , myself , mines got 10/40 in, has since i got it, i,m due an oil change , should i put 5/30 back in or keep up with the 10/40

Opie Oils are doing a 5W/40 full synthetic for £19 for 5 litres at the moment. I might get a double quantity and do two changes in quick succession to give my engine a bit of a spring clean. Paul

I think for my GSi, with its mileage of 146,000-plus, 5W/30 is a bit on the thin side. I probably shan't fill it with anything thinner than 5W/40 in future. But that's just me. ;-) Paul

I have been using Mobil 1 0W /40 in mine for many years.

I dont have a clue whats in mine just now as this is the first oil change ive done since ive got it. so do you think 5/30 is too fin?

Depends on the mileage. Over about 100k miles, I would probably go for 5W/40 or 10W/40. It's personal choice really. Paul
