    Default write off?

On the way home some tit pulled out without looking. I was just wondering if my 2005 120bhp 72k SXI was a write off? Car worth about £1800 to £1900

    Car needs

fix, bend back and respray wing
    new headlight
    new bumper

I will be taking a hire car for the time my car is off the road.

    Thanks

As long as there is no underlying damage, I can't see why they would write that off. And if they do, then it looks like a great opportunity for a nice easy DIY repair if you decide to buy it back from the insurance company. Would have thought you could pick up a bumper, wing and light for a couple of hundred tops.

    What's impact bar like?

can't see them writing it off. But if they do. Get it bought back will only be cheap to get it sorted

£200 tops to fix it yourself if you can find the right scrappers.

Who are you insured with ?
have the airbag or pretensioners gone off ?

I'd say you should be ok but it will be close to a total loss, it will depend if there's any unseen damage.

Wing on ebay £25 dont even bother bending back etc... Sri bumper £100 on ebay. If you carnt get star silver or need respray, add another £100, so £250 tops! Aslong as no internal damage. They wont write that off.

My mondeo was hit in may last year and it was written off, it was a 2000/X ghia x with 90k and the insurance company valued it at £1600

Don't forget insurance repair work can be much more expensive than going directly to the bodyshop

A lot of insurers want to guarantee the work for 2 to 3 years now, and the only way they can do that is to ensure new parts are fitted. Gone are the days of panel beating that small dent out of your wing unless it's a cash deal between yourself and the bodyshop.
