What voltage you getting at battery with / without engine running? (Possibly faulty alternator?)
When you say no chance of starting do you mean it just turns over or will it no crank?
Trouble to turn over , almost like a flat battery , but just had a new battery and starter overhauled
2.2's have an issue with teh fuel flowing back. If you park nose down a hill you wont have issues. There is an uprated part, but as its a long time since my 2.2 days (Saab) I cant remember all the details. Im sure people have fitted 1 way valves etc. Alternatively I think its the injector seals people have issues with. Someone with a current 2.2 will be along shortly to give all the details, otherwise google is your friend

Could be a bad engine/gearbox to body earth. This can also be causing the random dash lights. I would advise you to find out where all the earths are and check them, or an easy check is to put a jump lead from the engine block to the battery neg terminal and see if its improved starting
