Default Car Started This Morning then cut out

I went and started my car this morning and it ran for 5 mins while i was pumping the tyre up and then it just cut out. Now it won't start.

It turns over but won't start and not sure what it can be.

Its a Vectra Facelift Exclusiv CDTI

it had fuel in it but now the fuel gauge has gone down to pretty much empty, could it be this?

Possibly, is it parked on a slope or anything? If it's really low it might just be the fuel has collected away from the pickup pipe.

Throw a few litres of diesel in it and prime it a few times (you'll hear the fuel pump in the tank turn on when you switch on the ignition - cycle it a few times) and you're more than likely gonna be good to go.

Yup. Turn the radio off and leave the door open, you'll hear the hum from it. On for 15 seconds, then off, give it a second then on for 15 etc. Do that a couple of times and you'll be sorted.
