    Default boost problem

just bought a 2006 150 cdti lovely car but can someone point me in the right direction .between 1000 and 2000 revs its as slow hell then when hits 2000the turbo kicks in and its off. Thought it might be normal but driving it today just under 2000 revs and spanner light came on and car wouldt boost at all then light went out and all was normal again . this happened a few times during my journey . Now spanner light is off and car drives fine now even seems to be better now between 1000revs and 2000 revs any ideas could it be a faulty boost sensor or solonoid cheers new to vauxhalls love the car but i know they have there problems .

Did you clean the boost sensor properly? it really made a difference when I found out how it works......read me past posts on cleaning properly.

Hi i took this part out and cleaned it a couple months ago...before seeing any posts on here. I used a toothbrush and oven cleaner and accidentally moved the little bit inside the cage. What exactly is it and could i have damaged it?? Also can u explain how it works??

the little bit inside the cage moves around but underneath the little bit there is a tunnel that I think is u shaped and goes over to the other side of the sensor, if you look at the opposite side of the sensor inside the cage there is a small hole (probably still bunged up), stick the straw end of a wd40 can into the hole and spray said wd40 through until it starts appearing where the sensor thing is opposite.....repeat until the wd40 flows through properly. Worked for me!

Ok so if that little bit moves its ok? I will give it another look tomorrow eve but just had whole inlet side revamped as common bar and egr problem was plaguing me and would like to think 'your cars all done sir' means 'all tested and good as new' but cant help but think its lacking a little power...

The reason i question my workmanship and theirs is cuz i have now got an infrequent sound of a steam engine at around 2750 rpm as boost comes in and out when driving with the revs steady at this. Did question VNT/Wastegate but sensor far easier to check 1st....
