Default HELP! whining from the front

I'm getting a whining coming from the front of the car, sounds like it is on one side only.

It gets louder the faster I go.

I still does it if I put the clutch in and take the car out of gear.

I think it could be the wheel bearing, is there anyway to check this? There doesn't seem to be any play in the wheel.

What else could it be before I replace the wheel bearing?

It kinda sounds like a helicopter propeller

Mine sound likes that. Been told its a dry bearing in the gearbox or on one of the wheels. Vauxhall told me its because i have cheap branded tyres on it (idiots)

Cv boot is fine, no slits and def no signs of leaks, no leaks coming from anywhere,

Shock is all tightened up, ARB not lose, no play in bearings,

put the rear wheel on the front, and I think the sound has gone quite a bit.

So I think it is just my tyres or a buckled wheel

Hopefully it is something simple. Just for future tho, The cv boot doesn't need to be knackered to have a worn cv joint. They parts can still wear esp if the grease inside degrades a little bit as it does over time

Ah ok you have a point. the car has only done 48,000 miles though, shame it needs mechanical assistance at this stage

I will find someone with a VX I can just swap the 4 wheels over and take for a test drive I think
