    Default Stereo Dilemma !

I currently have a CDC40 opera with DAB and a Mono screen, I don't know wether to keep this or change to :-

    1. Same setup with CID
    2. Or change DAB for Bluetooth and CID
    3. CD70 with CID and Bluetooth

This is where I find myself at the moment, some advice in my making my decision would be greatly appreciated ?

I'm in the process of changing systems and am not there yet,

I like the CD70 unit (with a CID otherwise you don't get a full map display), plus it is fairly straight forward to add in a bluetooth unit like a Parrot 9200 (probably also fairly straight forward to add it to a CDC40 too), but the Parrot lets you have an MP3 "aux in" that you can plug a USB stick into, or an SD card, or an MP3 player via its 2.5mm jack, or even an iphone (up to a 4), as well as pairing simultaneously with 2 phones via bluetooth BUT no DAB and, although it plays MP3's, it only has one CD slot.

So, I'm thinking I want the factory look and satnav and bluetooth and aux in etc etc, so I decided on the CD70 "solution", HOWEVER, I would still like to think I may be able to add DAB at some point in the future, I guess it will have to be via an "aux in" solution though.

If you don't need a factory satnav, I believe that DAB via the CDC40 is brilliant ! So, do you need satnav, and if you do, must it be a Vx unit ?

The CD40 is a good unit and tbh the only difference between it and the CD70 is sat nav. The CD40 can have everything the CD70 has except sat nav.

    Thnks for the replies.

so think i might stay with CDC 40 , now to decide if a CID is needed or not, and if DAB or Bluetooth is the way forward ?

it is just hard to find CID separately to buy

I think you might find it hard to source a CID and then you may have problems getting it to work if it hasn't been divorced from the donor.

A colour screen certainly is useful with a satnav device because it allows you to view the map which a GID doesn't, however, I'm not sure of any particular benefit of having a colour screen with a CDC40 ?

Bluetooth, is for connecting other devices like mobile phones where you can then either use them as handsfree, or play the music files stored on the phones memory card.

DAB is probably the way forward as far as listening to Radio is concerned offering a significantly wider choice of stations and information.

I'm not really sure of what other questions you have that haven't yet been answered ?
