    Default Parrot install

Just installed a Parrot handsfree 3200ls that i got given. It's all in and working but as i was doing it i had a problem/ queery.

When i was puching the HU (CD70) back into place the display was changing to 'External In'. What is this mode? When i use the 'Aux in' it displays just that and i wasn't aware that the ls3200 had any sort of additional input. There was a pink wire with a spade on the end of it attached to the iso lead that i bought when i taped up the end of it so it didn't ground on the chassis the problem was solved. Any ideas?

Nothing wrong with it. Just curious to know that the mode is and how to utilize it if it's useful.

"Extern In" means that you've somehow grounded the telemute wire on the back of the radio. This shuts it up, says "extern in" on the display and allows whatever is telling it to shut up, (in this case the Parrot kit) to play.

It's useful for cars that have the centre speaker on the dash, as without hooking the telemute up, you'll still get audio through that speaker, despite the fact that the parrot kit has cut off the rest of them.

When you hook it up, it essentially says "shush" to the radio.

so, let's say that i had the 9 speaker stereo and when i did get a call, the centre speaker stayed on, where SHOULD i connect it to, to solve the issue?

There's a yellow cable hanging off your Parrot kit, or there should be (but some people think it's useless and rip it out of the block). Hook that wire up to the pink Telemute wire (on the SOT lead), then when the parrot receives a call (or you're using the music streaming functions on an MKi kit, or just twiddling the control knob of a CK kit), it'll cut the music out, give you "extern in" and speak, or play, or do whatever is needed through the main speakers, and the radio will shut the rest of them up for you.
