Default What to look for with the VXR

    Hi guys,

I've been looking through Autotrader and the Vauxhall networks and am pretty certain that im going to get a Insignia VXR. Got an insurance quote on a 59 plate with 32k on the clock and was suprised how low it was.

    Couple of questions though

the majority of my driving is motorway. How realistic is the 37mpg and if not what should i expect to see.

Also when looking for a VXR is there anything i should be looking out for? weak points, known faliures etc.

Network Q have a White VXR with 32k on the clock for £15,798. Sat Nav etc.

    cheers

Vehicle : Insignia VX-line RED Tourer

    Trim : No, over weight!

    Engine : Flux Core Capacitor

    Year : 1 A.D

    Mileage : Rising

    Bad points ......
Driving in traffic you'll see 19mpg or less !
Check the brake pads & discs pads from VX are £250 discs are £600 ish each - yes EACH !
4 wheel drive system is a weak point, problems with the Haldex.
Power steering can be noisy with no cure.
    Tyres are £250 a corner.
20" alloys prone to blistering paint.

    Good points ......
It's quick, comfy and makes you do a bit of wee each and every time you drive it !

You can get 37mpg, i've done slightly better than that on motorway journeys, but only if you drive like a nuns grandmother !
Average mpg comes in at about 20, so be realistic, they are very thirsty.
