Default Drivers door really really buggin me now

    Hi Guys.

Im still trying to sort out my drivers door which wont open with the key fob and the window wont open and close.

Now ive tried resetting the key fob still does the same. Ive tried my switch in someone esles car which worked and ive also brought a new switch which didnt work either.

Ive had the door card off a couple of times and i cant seem to see a broken wire any where and now im getting lost of what to try next??

Also everytime after taking the door card off and putting it back on again ill sit in the car with the door closed and the window will go down and up just once then stop working again??

Anyone got any ideas of what to try next its only something little but realy bugs me if i cant open the drivers window at least anyway.

    Thanks Alan.

Sounds like a broken earth in the loom between the door and wing to me. Had this on a 306.

I had a broken earth on an Alhambra - it stopped the window working. I put in a temporary earth by shoving a wire in to an earth on the window motor input and then shoving the other end into the battery negative clamp then checking it worked. Only found the actual break by pulling on the earth wire fairly hard that lead to the plug that joint the door loom to the car loom. If you try this you have to make sure you have identified the earth wire!!

Is that like the rubber hose when you open the door? How do I get into that to open it?

    I'd sway towards the DDM.

Have you actually checked the fuses, even if they look good just take them out and give them a good clean, I sorted my wife's skoda fabia this morning , central locking and electric windows stopped working, just cleaned fuses. try it if you haven't already you never know.

Have you checked all the connection inside the door. If the door module was faulty then i would have thought there would be some fault codes stored too

Agreed. Codes yes but there'd not be any indication there were any unless you had the computer plugged in. Might be a good starting place.

That would be my starting point too. Plug it in and check the DDM. Surely any broken wires would cause a communication problem and show up as a fault code anyways. My Xenon headlight control unit packed up and it was like it this
