As above could i get an auto electrician to install a cable connected to rear of cd30 anywhere to play ipod/iphone music, or is this not possible and would need to get a good parrot kit? Thanks

You could always use an FM Transmitter? Have a look on eBay, loads of them and not expensive in comparison to something like a Parrot.

I bought a cheap and cheerful one a while back, and it didn't seem too bad quality-wise to be honest. Basically the same as this one:

Probably get what you pay for to a degree I suppose. Not quite sure what you mean about listening to music "stored on apps"?
The higher spec Parrot kits should output the audio properly.
Cheaper systems will use the External in / Telephone mono audio system to play the music through the car's front speakers only.
Most common systems are the higher spec Parrots and the Dension ICE link units.
