Side ones - just use plcc2

Displays are plcc4 in sure, but u can use plcc2 as long as you use the top 2 pads.
    Or you can use 0805's
    Thank you for the info.
If I use plcc2 for the 14 side LEDs will I get normal lightning of the clocks or there will be brighter and darker areas?
Whats the difference between plcc4 and plcc2, what's the point of having 4 mounting pads? You mean that if I use plcc2, I must solder the LED to the top couple of pads or what? There's no one here around me for help, that's why I'm asking these stupid questions.
    Thanks, Martin

I've found that using any colour other than original will be much brighter.
You can either solder them on the same way, or solder them flat.
Plcc2 has a positive and a negative pad.
Plcc4 has 3 positive pads and a negative pad.

If you use a plcc2, then u only solder it to 2 of the 4 pads.
Find the negative pad and solder that and the positive pads opposite.
Do not solder to the 2 other pads.

    Thanks for the info,
Sorry for the dumb question, but even if I don't solder plcc2 to all 4 pads, are they still going to make contact? I may sound stupid but I want to clear all things for me heheh...
    Thank you

They won't make contact if you don't solder them.
Just solder enough of the plcc2 to the 2 pads.... enough to make contact but not enough to go into the other 2 pads.

    OK I see, thank you.
So i must leave some space between the smd and 2 of the pads that are not needed....

I ordered white SMDs to replace the originals, and blue ones for the two displays and the needles. Don't know if they will look better leaving them with the red SMDs or put blue ones, as the needles are covered in red....

There's a space, it big enough not to solder on to them.

If your doing the needles blue, remember and remove the red/orange coating underneath the needles and try and clean them up.

If you left them, the blue wouldn't show.
