Anybody know of anybody in the north east that could do it all for me? I'm useless with a soldering iron. And roughly how much would people charge to do the whole lot including a cd70 head unit.

I use a temp controlled one bud - cost me £14.99 in maplins.

    plcc2 smds - large
    0805 smds - small

0805's cant be used in place of the plcc2's

    buy yourself decent solder too.

I personally use flux pens, but its each to theyre own

With these plcc2 LED/SMD's, do they have different pcd (luminosity) outputs? I have seen a couple of places advertising bright and extra bright versions, but never mentioned a pcd rating.

@mick 1986 there are slightly different outputs with different manufacturers but really you don't want them too super bright or you'll end up with too much glare on some of the buttons/dials, if you follow links to them that a lot of people have posted on here you won't go wrong, and in response to @Sambecky1989 it's plug n play in so much as when you remove(de-solder) the old smd you replace it by soldering your chosen colour smd in it's place and you're good to go. so long as you've soldered it the right way round
