Default List of SMDs for a dash conversion

As there are no proper lists of the smds required for a conversion i've decided to make a thread containing all the smd/led numbers for each specific part

Here is a list i've copied and changed slightly (Thanks goes to Ian Highlander for the initial list.

As you will see the list still needs alot of work as there are no head units listed and a few other things.

If you have done something (i,e the cd70) say how many smds you used (or any other specifics) and I will add them to the list

Speedo head (pre facelift with window in rev counter)

    • 14 x plcc2 (mounted on their sides to replace original side mounted LEDs)
    • 4 x plcc2 for right hand LCD (in speedo)
    • 3 x 0603 for left hand LCD (in rev counter)

    Heater control panel A/C models

    • 9 x plcc2
    • 5 x plcc2 (four switch indicators and behind the blue semi circle on the temperature dial, there was one already here but it's never worked on mine, does now).
    • There's a red one already in situ behind the red semi circle that I didn't replace.

Heater control panel Full Climate models
    Dual climate control models

    • 6 x Side leds/ plcc2 for 3 halos
    • 5 x plcc2 (four switch indicators and behind the blue semi circle on the temperature dial, there was one already here but it's never worked on mine, does now).
    • There's a red one already in situ behind the red semi circle that I didn't replace.

    CD30

    • 2 x plcc2 for drive slot
    • 4 x plcc2 for centre halo
    • 21 x plcc2 for all other buttons

    CD70

    • 4 x 0805 for drive slots
    • 4 x 0805 for on/off halo
    • 4 x 0805 for centre halo
    • 32 x 0805 for all other buttons

    GID

This is fitted with plcc4's by default, I replaced these with 0603's on Kmans advice.
    • 36 x 0603

Drivers door switch (with rear electric windows)

    • 14 x plcc2

    Passenger door switch

    • 4 x plcc2

    Rear door electric window switches

    • 1 x plcc2 in each switch

    Front heated seat switches

    • 1 x plcc2 in each - Switch illumination
    • 1 x plcc2 in each - "seat active" illumination

    Heated seat switch with cooling

    • 3x PLCC2 (2 for backlight, 1 for active)

    Park pilot switch

    • 1 x 3mm led diffused - Switch illumination
    • 1 x 3mm led diffused - Switch active illumination

    Sport switch

    • 1 x 3mm led diffused - switch illumination
    • 1 x 3mm led diffused - Switch active illumination

    Traction control switch

    • 1 x 3mm diffused

    Alarm switch

    • 1 x 3mm diffused

    • 3 x white 3mm diffused in each switch panel (one per button)

Full Can Steering wheel Controls (scrollers)
    • 3x 0805 per control. 1 per button

Headlight switch (non xenon with front fog lights fitted)

    • 11 x plcc2

    Overhead light switches

    • 1 x 3mm led diffused in each switch

    Ashtray

    • 1 x 3mm diffused

    Interior mirror downlight

    • 1 x 5mm diffused ( 2 x 3mm ones next to each will also work)

    • 1x PLCC2

    Twin audio panel

    • 9 x plcc2

    Sunroof switch

Cheers guys, can anyone tell me what size of resistors are required for the LEDs and does everything with LEDs need a resistor?

All the dash switches that have 3mm less on require the resistor. Depending on what brightness of led you're using might depend on what size resistor you use. None of the others I.e. half can steering controls and courtecy light need them

    I used 1/4 watt, 470 Ohm resistors.
Other things worth noting, there are different lightswitches and steering wheel controls with the same design. My light switch has 1 LED less than in the pictures (front + rear fog lights and headlight leveling button on both) and the inner parts are NOT 100% interchangeable. The full can steering wheel controls come in at least 2 different designs, 1 with a wire and 1 with just a plug - they're not interchangeable at all.
Worth noting on the heated seat switch with cooling, event though there are 2 backlight LEDs, it will look funny, if blue is chosen for backlight on cooling and red i chosen for heating, since the light in the little selector wheel comes from both LEDs
