What is happening to this country, the government seem adamant in attempting to privatise the main services in the country.

They are in my opinion putting money before safety and this can only be a bad idea.!!!!

No surprise to me. Its a typical Tory trait! This is what the Tory government has done in the past and will continue to do so every time they get into power. I cant believe people are so shocked.

Labour will get back in and everything will be brought back into the public sector. Then the wheel will just keep turning.

The out of touch tory toffs have a vested interest in privatising anything that moves, they invest in the companies which they privatise which makes them even more millions, they have always done this, they are the ones that are to blame for the horrendous gas and leccy bills were paying now amongst countless other corporate rip offs, how a working man can vote for them i just don,t know,

Dont forget we are all in this together, my arris

Tory Toffs privatising everything and selling everything off? Ahem

Gordon Brown selling off half of the UK's gold......cost the UK public purse 5Billion
Labour sold off 580million of our Navy warships
They even sold off 200 playing fields to raise money!
Then take into account that Labour started the privatising thing back in 45 and the tories pushed it even further in the 80's (I believe BT was the first?) it was a huge sucess. Prices dropped, there was direct competition, more people got connected and problems resolved more quickly.

Its 6 of one half a dozen of the other they are all the same sell whats not yours and then you can put in bigger expenses as the money pot is full again.

It was wrong of any government to sell off what belonged to the people. I am very supprised that no government has got round to taxing the air that we breath.

things that should never have been sold off:
BT-communications is key to this country and we have no control over it
North Sea Gas and Oil: If we kept this to ourselves we would never have had any fuel issues nor the high prices we have
Water: who the hell sells off the main thing that keeps us alive??? We are not even able to change suppliers
Electricity and Gas: It was done to bring in competion but it has not worked and prices went up to pay the share holders

It was all sold so that someone could make a fast buck. We were given free shares to keep us quiet when they new full well that we would have to sell them to live or they would be forced purchased later when someone made a bid for the company. Why were we not able to run these industries ourselves considering the huge profits they all make? It does not say at lot for our governments if they cannot even run a company that sells water which comes free from the sky and turn a profit. Get rid the lot I say and replace them with people who want to run the country for the people and not for themselves.

I don't know all the facts either, however for an 'emergency' service to go on strike was utterly repulsive !

Now they want the support of the public that they so badly let down for purely monetary gain ?

I would rather give the military the money after all they had to cover for them during that despicable act.

So don't give me the 'there will be loss of lives' garbage.

One thing's for sure, they won't be allowed to sleep on the job in a privatised world.

Will any government be any different though, they all promise what we want to hear so they get voted in, then they move the goalposts and change their minds.. They all do it, and lets not forget that Tony blair and his mob put this country in the mess we're in to start with... being as they are all as bad as each other who do you trust or vote for when the time comes..??
