Found this under the car

Any ideas if this is off the Vectra. Found under the back of the car 3 days ago after parking. Been suggested brake compensator, but can't find any info on this. Also suggested Xenon control linkage, but this is already in place. This one is about 12" long. It's been welded together at the socket end, but I've had the car for 5 years now and never had anything like this done. (53 GSI).
