    Default Cruise control

    Hi all my c control seems to work fine until I press the button to. Decrease speed then it turns off. Any help/advice appreciated

    You're not hitting the cancel button at the rear of the switch at the same time I take it?

    Quick update I took the stalk apart last night and. Gave it a sauirt with wd40 rubbed it with our lasses toothbrush and all working fine. Thx

    It'll be the usual dirty or poor contacts issue that plagues the cruise control switches. Pressing the button probably was moving the contacts just enough for it to switch off.

    Cleaning it up as you did usually sorts it, as does bending the contacts in the CIM (where the stalk plugs in) slightly so they make better contact.

    My CC isn't working at all any more, after I cleaned the contacts a week ago. :-( Is is new stalk time or can they be dismantled to clean inside the switch itself? Paul

    I just took it apart and cleaned it..itook the buttons off the stalk (be carefully not to lose the springs) gave everything a good scrub put it back together and made sure I put it back exactly where it came from. 1 more thing when I had it open it did look spotlessly clean. I hope this helps. If not there's a few for sale on ebay

    Open it up pal and clean all of itwith a toothbrush it worked for me
