parking ticket dilemma...what would you really do?

hi chaps...just wondering what you guys would really do if you had received a parking ticket like i did today...i read the tkt that was on my windscreen and noticed that the warden had not entered the correct number plate details by one letter...if i pay £35 within 21 days (after it goes up to £70).. i will have no guilt...or...should i just forget?....will they be able to find me?...can they really do anything? after all its not my number!?....seriously guys, i know im gonna get some funny comments but what would you REALLY do.??

Well, I think I would put the money in an envelope, and post it to myself as a late birthday present

I certainly would not pay it if they haven't got my car details correct, then who is to say they have the other information correct such as time overstayed etc either.

Of course, I am only kidding, as an upright law abiding citizen I would pay it regardless, even if it was for the car behind me

Is the ticket from the city council or a private company, if private just bin it and forget it. local gov ones are harder to ignore, if the ticket you got is a copy of what the attendant has then it means he has the wrong registration and it's not your car, give them a ring and tell them that the reg number they have isn't yours, I am sure you'll get away with it.

I'd find out if they photograph the car too and probably just ring the number on the ticket to ask the questions (withheld number and give them no personal info)....

Then if the answer was no sir we don't take photos then I would ignore it coz they can't trace you from the wrong registration plate lol

I think most of them do take photos these days. So that folk can't argue that they weren't there at that time, or that they weren't on the yellow lines etc.

I don't think I'd chance it. Unless of course you can afford to gamble £70 !

I think that even if they take a photo the paperwork they gave you must hold your own reg number, they will also have a copy of the fine they left you and that also does not hold your reg number.so it's obviously not your car they're dealing with.

Photo is irrelevant. I had the exact same issue and the ticket was cancelled when I wrote in.
